Nudibranchia Samaras

The Nudibranchia Samaras progresses through three distinctive stages during its lifecycle. Starting in a compact cocoon structure, the creature unfolds and gradually grows, adding and adjusting its arms. The form is comprised of four branching segments made of a sheer membrane. Each branch converges at a central body, which has the ability to emit light that the organism uses to perceive its surroundings.

Cocoon Light

Fabric is continuously wrapped around a circular wire structure, in which a light is encased. The folding and draping of the fabric resemble a cocoon. The fixture is hung from a ceiling and emits and soft, yet warm light that supports the embracing nature of the cocoon.
